Perth-based make-up artist Rebekah Clark, a long time collaborator with our Black Australian editor Thom Kerr, was in Sydney this week shooting the Wheels & Dollbaby campaign. The two decided to reunite and shoot an exclusive story for Blacklog. Having recently visited the showroom of Mother & Father PR, Thom selected key pieces from the collections and pulled together a showcase featuring brand new face Charlee from EMG models. Charlee, an indigenous Australian, is a shining example of Australia’s growing desire to encompass multicultural talent and will be making her presence felt as some of her more significant material comes out over the next two months. In the meantime we thought we’d get you warmed up with a little sunlit rooftop action. Photography by Thom Kerr, beauty by Rebekah Clark and fashion courtesy of Mother & Father PR.

H3O is a unique fashion showroom nestled on penthouse of one of Harajuku’s most significant architectural buildings. Comprising of Directors Australian Jason Lee Coates and Japanese Hirohito Suzuki, it’s a curious cross-cultural melange of style and influence, filled with light, brights, and flowers.

Here’s the team during the recent cherry blossom festival in the Shinjuku Gyoen impreial gardens. From Left to right: Hiro, Jason, Yuka, Soh and Fumiko. We’re all really happy here, and slightly drunk!

Here’s an image of the H3O showroom, which has an imposing view over Harajuku. We hand-select each designer in the showroom for their unique appraoch to fashion. It’s not about fame, but more about working with talented designers all over the world who have a unique fashion point of view, and a positive message to send out. To the right of this image you can see Bless’ed are the meek hanging!

A KARAOKE TOUR OF TOKYO

When H3O does Karaoke we head straight to the super-exclusive Trump House with our friends Tokyo Dandy (www.tokyodandy.com) and DJ/model Elli-Rose and close the doors for a totally private experience. It’s fun dancing around on the podiums and poles, with all of those amazing lights and mirrors, and it’s a big projector screen so what could be better?! With any luck, model/signer Sarah Mary will pop by and put us all to shame!

Otherwise, if it’s about going uptown, it’s off to Amour (above Le Baron de Paris) and the Marc Newson-designed rooms with Tokyo supermodel (and BIG Bless’ed fan) Melody Yoko. Everything goes here in these Dom Perignon-soaked private rooms, and don’t expect to leave before sun-up!

Or maybe we head to Fuji Karaoke in Shinjuku Nichome for some super trashy fun. Nichome is Tokyo’s outrageous gay area, and Fuji is an underground bar with a long counter where everyone from local trannies to pop stars gather to sing their guts out. Follow it up with a rowdy night at nearby dance bar Arty Farty, and your night is set.
